The New Hope Heroes are back home after three months of learning!!! Many things have changed since these children lived in a nearby garbage dump. Through the efforts of New Hope, these children have seen God’s grace make a significant change in their physical, intellectual and spiritual life. Each of the New Hope children became “orphaned” in different ways, but now these children are united, and treat each other as family. This is always so evident at the end of each three-month school term. Based on age and grade, the New Hope children attend a couple different schools and so at the end of the term when all the children are picked up and brought back together for a school brake, their joy in seeing each other is palpable.
After each child is picked up, they are ready to head “home” to a church in Lodwar. They unload their belongings as a team and are eager to re-cap with each other about how the last term went. They have found family amongst each other. At the church the children are under the care of house mother Gladys, counselor Peter, head coordinator Dickson and our watchman. They are bathed in the love of Jesus. It is amazing to see how their relationships have strengthened as they learn more about Christ’s love for them. Wow! A pause (below) at the end of the packed day to thank God for being reunited and safe travels just takes my breath away.
I pray Christ’s peace for your day today.
